Marcus Camby is a power forward for the Denver Nuggets. He is widely regarded as one of the premiere defensive players in the game with a NBA Defensive Player of the Year Award in 2007. In college, at the University of Massachusetts Amherst he won the John R. Wooden Award and the Naismith College Player of the Year Award.

Marcus Camby was born in Hartford, Connecticut on March 22, 1974. He attended college at the University of Massachusetts Amherst where he held the record for most blocks by a freshman in the NCAA. In 1995 he won the Naismith College Player of the Year Award and the John R. Wooden Award. He would leave college before his senior year and declare himself eligible for the NBA Draft.

Camby was selected with the second pick in the 1996 NBA Draft by the Toronto Raptors. In 1998, he was traded to the New York Knicks for Charles Oakley. He would led the Knicks to the the NBA Finals in 1999, where they would lose to the San Antonio Spurs led by Tim Duncan and David Robinson. He would be traded to the Denver Nuggets in 2002, for forward Antonio McDyess. In Denver, he would win the NBA Defensive Player of the Year Award in 2007.
