Early Career
Marcos Baghdatis began playing tennis at the age of five and decided to make it his life by the age of eleven. Attending the Nicosia Federation Center, Baghdatis studied tennis professionally with Yiannis Hadgjieorgiou as his coach. By the age of thirteen, Baghdatis was the number one senior player in his country and by 2003, he won the title of Junior World Champion. In 2006, Baghdatis made the finals at the Australian Open and the semi-finals at Wimbledon.1
