Malignant Hyperthermia
Malignant Hyperthermia is a condition triggered by exposure certain to drugs used for general anesthesia which can cause the body to be unable to to supply oxygen, remove carbon dioxide, and regulate body temperature. Body temperature, blood pressure and heart rate all increase with malignant hyperthermia.
Stephanie Kuleba, a high school cheerleader, died during corrective surgery on her breasts on March 22, 2008, after she had a negative reaction to the anaesthesia. After the death, it was determined that Kuleba had malignant hyperthermia.
