Maksim Chmerkovskiy is an Ukrainian dancer, choreographer and instructor who appears on the American version of Dancing with the Stars. He first appeared on the show during season two when he was paired up with Tia Carrere. Chmerkovskiy also owns three dance studios in New York City, one of which is Rising Stars Dance Academy.
On November 6, 2008, Chmerkovskiy appeared on The Insider to disclose information on a new contest that enables female viewers to win a date with Maksim.2
