Mahalo Mentors Overview

  • MMs (Mahalo Mentors) help train new Part Time Guides (PTGs) on how to build search result pages (SeRPs). MMs are part-time contractors just like PTGs.

Mahalo Mentors Criteria

  1. Dedication to Mahalo's mission of helping people
  2. Excellent writing skills
  3. Expertise in creating great SeRPs
  4. A nurturing, patient, and positive attitude toward new PTGs
  5. Frequent online availability
  6. Have 15 SeRPs accepted to Mahalo

Mahalo Mentor Duties

  1. Be available to quality control (QC) SeRPs
  2. Be available to help PTGs via email, instant messenger, IRC, and Skype
  3. Monitor and participate in the Greenhouse Mailing List and Mentors Mailing List

Mahalo Mentor QC Process

  • The QC process involves checking formatting, standards, and the quality of links suggested. For additional reading please see the the detailed overview of the MM QC Process.

Mahalo Mentor Compensation

  • Mahalo Mentors are paid half the price of the SeRPs they QC as stated on the Most Wanted List.
  • In addition to their MM duties, MMs can create SeRPs and will be compensated as regular PTGs for SeRPs created.
  • You must apply and be accepted in order to join the MM program (note: you can help other PTGs without joining the MM project, but in order to be paid you must first be accepted into the program).

Mahalo Mentor Application

  • To apply for an MM position, please email Greenhouse_staff at Mahalo.com with the subject "Mahalo Mentor Applicant." Include in the email a brief cover letter as to why you would make a good MM and a link to your PTG profile and your Mahalo Social profile.
