Mae Young


Guide Note:Mae Young became a professional wrestler in 1939 at the age of 16. Young is ranked 4th among the 50 greatest women wrestlers off all-time. During the 1950's, Young wrestled for the World Women's Wrestling Association (WWWA), started by Mildred Burke in Los Angeles, California. In 1999 Young, debuted with the WWF now know as the WWE on an episode of SmackDown with The Fabulous Moolah and Jeff Jarrett. During that episode, Jarrett smashed a guitar over Moolah and the put Young in a figure four leglock. At the young age of 76, WWF named Young, "Miss Royal Rumble 2000". Young has managed the wrestlers Mark Henry, The Fabulous Moolah and The Kat. Some of Young's signature moves were the "elbow drop" "bronco buster" "scoop slam" and the "schoolyard pin". Young has won the NWA Florida Women's Championship once and the National Wrestling Alliance NWA United States Women's Championship once. Young has competed in wrestling for eight decades, and says she will have one more match at the age of 100.
