Mackenzie Phillips
Mackenzie Phillips is a film and television actress who began her career at 13, first starring in the TV movie Go Ask Alice, and then at 14 playing the role of Carol in American Graffiti. Her career hit the mainstream when she landed the role as Julie Cooper Horvath on the 1970s sitcom One Day at a Time. Phillips is the daughter of The Mamas & the Papas founder John Phillips.1

Drug Problems
During the 1979-1980 season of One Day at a Time, Phillips publicly dealt with a drug problem which landed her in rehab. For nearly two decades, Phillips has struggled with drugs and on August 27, 2008, was arrested at LAX airport for allegedly possessing heroin and cocaine.
