Machete

Machete was initially an unproduced script written by filmmaker Robert Rodriguez after he met actor Danny Trejo. The script provided the basis for a fake movie trailer included in the Quentin Tarantino/Rodriguez co-production Grindhouse in 2007.

At Comic-Con 2008, Rodriguez confirmed his intentions to turn Machete into a feature-length film, starring Trejo, and also to potentially produce two direct-to-video sequels, Machete Kills and Machete Kills Again.

Grindhouse 2

Some rumors suggest Machete may be part of Grindhouse 2, along with The Babysitter Twins.¹ Rodriguez, Tarantino and other filmmakers involved in the project (including Eli Roth and Edgar Wright, who directed other fake trailers) have indicated they would like to return for a Grindhouse sequel ², though the first film's relatively poor performance at the box office may have killed the project's chances.³
