Luis Alberto Scola Balvoa was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on April 30, 1980. In 2002, Scola was selected by the San Antonio Spurs with the 55th pick in the NBA draft.1
Pro Career
After the draft, Scola continued playing in the Euroleague. In 2007, the rights to Scola were traded to the Houston Rockets. That same year, he made his NBA debut with the Rockets. In his first season, he appeared in 82 games and averaged 10.3 points, 6.4 rebounds and 24.7 minutes per game. He also started 39 games for the team. After his rookie season, Scola was named to the NBA all-rookie first team for the 2007-2008 season.2
