Low is an indie rock band from Duluth, Minnesota, led by the husband and wife team of Alan Sparhawk (guitar, vocals) and Mimi Parker (drums, vocals).

Evolving Sound

Formed in the early 1990s as a reaction to the popularity of grunge music, Low's early records experimented with minimalist, quiet music dubbed "slowcore" by music journalists. In recent years, however, the band's sound has expanded to include traces of electronic music, noise and folk-pop.

Religious influence

Both Sparhawk and Parker are members of the Mormon faith, but while their lyrics and music sometimes deal with spiritual issues, the band has never labeled itself a Christian band.
