Lone Survivor

Lone Survivor is a memoir written by Marcus Luttrell and released in 2007 that covers his account of a U.S. Navy Seals operation that took place in Afghanistan in 2005. Luttrell was the only survivor of the mission.

Plot Synopsis

Marcus Lutrell, Lt. Michael Murphy, Petty Officer 2nd Class Danny P. Dietz, and Petty Officer 2nd Class Matthew Axelson left their base camp in Afghanistan for a special ops assignment to capture an Al Qaeda leader.

As they stood watch on the mountainside, they were discovered by goat herders. They interrogated the goat herders and then voted on what they should do with them. After releasing them, they were attacked by the Taliban and Lutrell was the only survivor.
