Journalist Liz Trotta began her career in 1965 as a reporter for New York's NBC affiliate.

She is recognized for covering tough stories including the Vietnam War, JFK's assassination, the Yom Kippur War, Chappaquiddick, the hostage crisis in Iran, the von Bulow trial and the US invasion of Grenada. In 1984 she covered George McGovern's presidential bid.

When speaking about Hillary Clinton's comment referring to RFK's assassination and why she is still in the race for president, Liz Trotta said jokingly, "And now we have what some are reading as a suggestion that someone knock of Osama...umm...Obama, well both if we could."

While this is not the full context of the 3:23 minute segment, it has sparked controversy with some calling for Trotta to be fired from FOX News.

On May 26, 2008 Trotta appeared on FOX once again in discussion about Hilary Clinton's remarks. At the end of the clip, she is asked about her own comments, for which she them apologizes.

"Oh yes, I am so sorry about what happened yesterday and the lame attempt at humor. I fell all over myself, making it appear that I wished Barack Obama harm or any other candidate, for that matter, and I sincerely regret it and apologize to anybody I have offended."
