Director Jodie Foster
Joe Dante of Gremlins fame had been initially set to direct Little Man Tate, but backed out of the project over creative differences, leaving star Jodie Foster to take the helm. (She had previously directed an episode of the TV series Tales from the Darkside.) Since Tate, she had directed only one more film - 1995's Home for the Holidays - and has plans for a third, the 1930s-set circus film Flora Plum.
