Lisa Whelchel

' Lisa Whelchel is an American actress and author. She starred as private school student Blair Warner on the hit 1980s sitcom The Facts of Life, a spin-off of Diff'rent Strokes. A born-again Christian since the age of 10, Whelchel currently writes books about her family and her faith and runs a ministry out of her home.

Welchel is very public advocate for Born-Again Christian values, which is nothing like the materialistic, superficial, snobby débutante Blair Warner. Blair was a girl from a rich family, and often lorded her wealth and privilege over the other students from her dorm at Eastland, a private school for girls. Aside from having real-life values that are direct conflict to Blair's flamboyance, Welchel believes that home schooling is the best form, and educates her three children at home.
