Despite repeated denials by both Edwards and Druck, John Edwards admitted to ABC News Nightline correspondent Bob Woodruff on August 8, 2008, that he did have an affair with Rielle Hunter (Lisa Druck). Although he confirmed the affair, Edwards continues to deny that he is the father of her child, Frances Quinn Hunter. Edwards claims he cannot be the father because their affair ended before her daughter was conceived. Andrew Young, finance director of Edwards' campaign, claimed paternity in a statement that was posted on a political blog.
