On June 18, 2008 it was announced that a group of four venture capital firms would make a $53 million investment in LinkedIn, a Silicon Valley-based social networking site geared towards professional networking.1
The firms Bain Capital Ventures, Sequoia Capital, Greylock Partners and Bessemer Venture Partners will take a 5 percent share in the company.1
