• September 27, 1982: Dwayne Michael Carter, Jr. is born.

• 1997: Forms the Hot Boys

• 1994: Signs with with Cash Money Records at the age of 11.

• 1996: His daughter is born.

• 1997: Forms The Hot Boys with fellow Cash Money rappers Juvenile, Turk, and B.G.. Their debut album, Get It How U Live! is released the same year.

• November 2, 1999: Releases first solo album The Block is Hot.

• December 19, 2000: Releases second Lights Out

• 2001: Has a fued with former Cash Money and Hot Boy partner B.G..

• July 23, 2002: Releases third album 500 Degreez. The name is a reference to an album released by Juvenile called 400 Degreez.

• June 29, 2004: Releases Tha Carter. It is later certified Gold by the RIAA selling 878,00 copies in the U.S..

• December 6, 2005: Releases Tha Carter II. It's is biggest selling album with 980,000 copies sold in the U.S. alone.

• August 15, 2006: Arrested for drug possession.

• July 24, 2007: Arrested on gun charges.

• July 27, 2007: Appears as himself in the comedy Who's Your Caddy?

• October 5, 2007: Lil Wayne is arrested in connection with an outstanding felony drug possession charge in Georgia.

• October 17, 2007: Premiers new song "Gossip" at the 2007 BET Hip Hop Awards.

• January 22, 2008: Arrested on felony drug charges
