Guide Note

Coming to ABC in the fall season 2008 is the new series Life on Mars. The series is an American version of the BBC series which was cancelled in April 2007. Jason O' Mara, Rachelle LeFevre and Colm Meaney will star in the series.

Detective Sam Tyler played by Jason O' Mara is hit by a car and wakes up in the year 1972 after his detective girlfriend Maya disappears. He is still a member of the police department and wonders if he can some how make it back to the year 2008. Detective Tyler realizes that being a cop in 1972 is much different and more complicated without the modern technology he is used to. He also finds out that there may be a connection between his case in 1972 and events in 2008.

Life on Mars will premiere in the ABC 2008-09 Fall Lineup. The series was added to the lineup on May 13, 2008.

There are a few difference in the original BBC version of Life On Mars and the US version. In the BBC version, Tyler goes back to 1973, in the ABC version he goes back to 1972.
