Caylee Anthony Investiation
Caylee Anthony went missing in June of 2008. Leonard Padilla became involved in the case when he bailed out her mother, Casey Anthony, from jail when she was charged on child neglect for failing to report the disappearance. Padilla reportedly bailed her out because he believed she could be helpful in his search.4 Casey was later charged with murder of Caylee and held without bail. No body has been found, but evidence suggests Casey murdered Caylee.
In November 2008, Padilla was searching the area of Little Econlockhatchee River for remains of Caylee. A bag with bones was found, but officials called to the scene said it was not related to the case. Padilla was later criticized for contacting media before law enforcement officials.1
