Digital and film cameras contain lenses, which when brought into contact with dust, fingers, rain and other elements, can become dirty and impair the ability of the camera to take the highest quality photos possible. Lens cleaning kits are commercially available and contain cloths, wipes, air blowers and cleaning fluid with which to keep camera lenses clean. A photographer can assemble a kit him or herself out of these objects.

• Dirt and dust can scratch a lens, so be gentle when removing
• Use lens cleaner to remove grease or fingerprint spots
• Don't over clean the lens, as you could scratch it
• Read your camera's manual for cleaning instructions
• Keep cap on lens when not in use to avoid getting it dirty
