Leisha Hailey is an actress, musician and producer who gained mainstream notoriety for her role as Alice Pieszecki, a bisexual journalist, on the hit Showtime series The L Word.

Early Career
Hailey studied acting at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York City in 1991 and got her first major role in 1997 in the feature film All Over Me. While acting, Hailey also formed a group called The Murmers that received a cult following. In 2001 they changed the band name to Gush but when Hailey was cast on The L Word in 2004, the band split up.1
The L Word Spinoff
Creator and executive producer of The L Word, Ilene Chaiken, is writing and producing another Showtime pilot that will be centered around Hailey. Shooting for the spinoff is scheduled for December 2008.3
