Synopsis
A woodsman by the name of Richard Cypher lived a simple life of obscurity, until a chance meeting with a magical woman named Kahlan Amnell. Her goal in life was to find the "Seeker" and lead him to the tyrannical Darken Rahl, so that the "Seeker" would slay him. Zeddicus Zu'l Zorander, the wizard, reveals that Cyper is the revelation of the "Seeker" prophecy. He teaches Cypher to survive on his journey and to use the "Sword of Truth", which will enable him to fulfill his destiny.
New Zealand Locations, Familiar Faces
Legend of the Seeker will mark the first time a major epic fantasy series appears on American since Hercules and Xena: Warrior Princess. Both of those shows were Sam Raimi projects, and both were filmed in New Zealand. The connections continue: Producer Robert G. Tapert is the husband of Xena star Lucy Lawless.
