LeVert

LeVert was a Cleveland-based R&B group formed by brothers Gerald and Sean Levert, with Marc Gordon in 1984, extending an R&B; dynasty that began with the Leverts' father, O'Jays singer Eddie Levert. The group hit it big in 1986 with the crossover hit song, "Casanova." But one of the most notable LeVert tracks is less well-known: a classic soul-style ballad from the group's 1984 debut, called "I'm Still." LeVert was successful into the '90s, as R&B became eclipsed by Hip-Hop.

Untimely Deaths

Eddie LeVert has outlived both of his sons: Gerald died of an accidental prescription-drug overdose in 2006, and Sean died March 30, 2008 of a heart attack.
