The Young Star

Laura Wright was born and raised in Clinton, Maryland. When she was in the eighth grade she began to develop an interest in acting. Wright appeared in school plays such as Gypsy, Our Town and You Can't Take it With You.¹ She also appeared in fashion shows and local commercials.²

Carly and Cassie

Wright currently portrays the role of Carly Corinthos in the ABC soap opera General Hospital. She has been with the cast since 2005. Prior to General Hospital, Wright played the role of Cassie Layne Winslow in the CBS soap opera Guiding Light. She was an active cast member from 1997 until 2005.
