Lance Armstrong
Professional cyclist Lance Armstrong won the Tour de France for seven years straight beginning in 1999. He beat out the record holder of five consecutive wins, cyclist Miguel Indurain. He retired from racing after his 2005 win. In November of 2008, news outlets reported that Armstrong was planning a comeback and was in talks with Tour de France officials regarding competing in the 2009 race.1

Personal Life
Armstrong was born on September 18, 1971, in Plano, Texas. At the age of three, he was adopted by his stepfather Terry Keith Armstrong and took his last name.
He married Kristin Richard on May 8, 1998. The couple had three children together, Luke and twins Isabelle and Grace. Richard and Armstrong divorced in 2003.
Armstrong has since been romantically linked to singer Sheryl Crow, designer Tory Burch and Kate Hudson. On July 30, 2008, after a three month relationship with Hudson, the two called it quits.2
Testicular Cancer
Armstrong was diagnosed with testicular cancer in 1996. The cancer spread to his lungs and brain resulting in testicular surgery, the removal of a lung, and aggressive chemotherapy treatments.
