NFL Career
LaDainian Tomlinson was drafted by the Chargers in 2001 with the fifth overall pick. Since his rookie season, Tomlinson has started in all but one game. Throughout his career, Tomlinson has set numerous NFL rushing records. In 2006, he set a new record by scoring 31 touchdowns during the regular season. The previous record of 28 was set the year before by Shaun Alexander. Tomlinson also broke Alexander's record of 27 rushing touchdowns by carrying the ball into the end zone 28 times. Tomlinson's accomplishments on the field have earned him a spot on the Pro Bowl five times.2
