Killer Instinct is a series of tournament fighting video games developed by Rareware. The first of the series is a 1994 arcade game that was ported to the SNES and GameBoy systems in 1995. Killer Instinct 2 was also originally released for the arcades, and later ported to the Nintendo 64 console as Killer Instinct Gold. It has been rumored from discussion on the Scribes' mailbag on Rare's website that Killer Instinct 3 will be released for the Xbox 360, most recently the KI3 Christmas stocking pictured in Rare's 2007 Christmas card, but the rumors to date have been false.
