Kellen Winslow Jr.
National Football League tight end Kellen Winslow Jr. plays for the Cleveland Browns. Winslow was hospitalized on October 9, 2008, with a staph infection and did not play in the following game. On November 30, 2008, Winslow suffered a lower left leg injury during a loss to the Indianapolis Colts. He refused to speak to reporters following the game and it is speculated that he may miss the remainder of the 2008 season.1

Controversial Injury
In October of 2008, Winslow criticized the Browns for the way they handled his hospitalization and illness, citing possible health factors in the locker room. The Browns suspended Winslow for one game following the incident.2
On October 25, 2008, the Browns rescinded the one game suspension on Winslow. Winslow will not play on the 26th however since he did not practice or travel with the team. The Browns have still fined him $25,000 but will still pay him his game check.3
On October 27, 2008, general manager Phil Savage confirmed Winslow's staph infection and said that Winslow was back with the team and working out.4
Football Career
Following a two-year college football career with the Miami Hurricanes, Winslow was selected sixth overall in the 2004 NFL Draft by the Cleveland Browns. He made his NFL debut that same year, playing in two games and recording five receptions for a total of 50 yards. Winslow was sidelined for the entire 2005 season after he was injured in a motorcycle accident. He returned to the Browns in 2006 to play in all 16 games and scored three touchdowns. Winslow turned in his best season statistically in 2007, totaling 1,106 yards and five touchdowns.
