Julie Christie's Oscar fashion ensemble received mixed reactions from red carpet onlookers. Some did not think her pink gloves and shoes matched her dress.1 She was also one of few who wore a knee-length dress to the ceremony.

Christie also wore an orange ribbon, which garnered some attention. The actress wore it in support of a campaign to close the Guantanamo Bay prison camp.2

Christie was nominated for "Best Actress" for her role in Away From Her. Marion Cotillard won the award.
