Background
Originally from Wilmette, Illinois, Allison first began her writing career at Georgetown University, where she wrote for the school's newspaper, while studying for her political science degree.
While still in college, Allison worked as a correspondent for Mark Kirk, who was an Illinois Congressman at the time.
Personal Life
In 2002, Allison was allegedly dating Harold Ford Jr., an African American Congressman. This relationship was used against Ford when he ran for a seat on the U.S. Senate in 2006.
