Plot Summary

A science professor (Brendan Fraser) known for his audacious theories travels to Iceland with his nephew (Josh Hutcherson). There, they get trapped in a cave while taking shelter from a storm. They quickly learn that the only way to survive is to journey through the Earth.

On their adventure, the two encounter otherworldly creatures and terrains they never knew existed.
