Joseph Pannell
Joseph Pannell pleaded guilty on February 22, 2008 to shooting
Chicago police officer Terrence Knox in 1969. He was 19 at the time. Pannell was arrested, released on bail , then fled to
Canada. Over the past 39 years, he married, raised a family, and worked in a library. In recognition of the life he's lived since the shooting, his sentence was 30 days in jail, two years probation, and a $250,000 payment to the Chicago Police Memorial Foundation.
