Jose Reyes
Jose Reyes is a All-Star Shortstop for the New York Mets. He is widely considered an excellent all-around shortstop, and one of the cornerstones of the Mets future. He earned a Silver Slugger award in 2006 and was a starter at shortstop for the 2007 National League All-Star Game.
In September 2008, rumors linked Reyes with model Bentley Matthews after photos were posted online of Matthews with the initials J.R. on her chest.1 Matthews denied the rumors, while Reyes' agent called the story "absurd" and "trashy."1

Early Life
Jose Bernabe Reyes was born in Villa Gonzalez, Dominican Republic on June 11, 1983. He would develop into a major league prospect in his youth, and at the age of 16 would be signed by the Mets as a free agent in 1999.
Pro Career
Reyes would make his major league debut on June 10, 2003. Originally a shortstop, Reyes would be move to second base to accommodate newly signed Japanese star Kazuo Matusi. When Matsui struggled at short, the Mets decided to switch Reyes back to his natural position. Reyes would struggle with injuries in his early career, but in 2006 he would establish himself as an elite player winning the National League player of the Week twice and he would be named to the National League All-Star team, but would be unable to play due to a hamstring injury.He would finish the season winning the Silver Slugger Award. In 2007, Reyes would earn the start in All-Star game at shortstop.
