On March 24, 2008, Kansas City Royals MLB baseball outfielder Joey Gathright, jumped over Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Hiroki Kuroda. The play happened when Gathright hit a chopper down the first base line, and he was forced to jump over the standing pitcher to avoid a collision. The game was during baseball's Spring training, and was featured in ESPN's nightly highlight reel.
