Jaws is an Eating Machine
As a student at San Jose State University, Chestnut entered competitive eating by winning a fried asparagus contest in 2005.5 He was the Wing Bowl buffalo wings eating champion for three years,2 and in 2007 he won both the Wing Bowl title and the Nathan's Famous International Hot Dog Eating Contest.7
Chestnut has held recognized records in competitive eating for: waffles, jalapeno poppers, grilled cheese sandwiches, pork ribs, horseshoe sandwiches, gyoza, pulled pork, asparagus, buffalo wings, hot dogs, hamburgers, matzo balls and kolaches.8
