Joe Burkett

Joe Burkett is a U.S. Department of State contractor who was stationed in Iraq during the war. It was reported in June, 2008, that Burkett had an alleged affair with CBS correspondent Lara Logan while she was in Iraq covering the war.¹ In July of 2008, Logan revealed in a Washington Post article that she was pregnant with Burkett's child. According to Logan, the baby is due in January of 2009 and she and Burkett plan to marry after their divorces are finalized. ²

Alleged Love Triangle

According to a National Enquirer report, Burkett had clashed with "a star CNN correspondent," in an angry confrontation over Logan.³ Michael Ware was later identified as the third party in the alleged love triangle. However, according to sources close to Logan, her relationship with Ware was no more than a "one time fling."⁵
