Joe Biden Bankruptcy Bill
In 2005, Democratic vice-presidential candidate Joe Biden helped pass a controversial bankruptcy bill through the Senate. The bill, which made obtaining debt relief after a bankruptcy more difficult, passed the Senate by a vote of 74-25. Although Biden's son, attorney R. Hunter Biden worked as a consultant for credit card issuer MBNA during this time, the Obama campaign denies that there was any conflict of interest in the Senator's support of the legislation.1
