- 1928: Born march 25, in Cleveland, Ohio
- 1946: Enlists in the U.S. Naval Reserve
- 1948: Receives appointment to the United States Naval Academy
- 1952: Serves as Navy Pilot during Korean War, and a Experimental Test Pilot
