Jerry Buss is the Owner of the Los Angeles Lakers. Under his ownership the Lakers have won 8 NBA Championships. He is widely regarded as one of the most successful owners in sports history. He is also respected as a poker player, placing third in the 1991 World Series of Poker in Seven Card Stud.

Gerald Hatten Buss was born in 1934. He would be raised in Kemmerer, Wyoming. He would attend the University of Wyoming he would graduate with a Bachelor in Science. He would than attend the University of Southern California where he would earn a Doctor of Philosophy in physicial Chemistry. He would then invest in Real Estate which would bring him financial success.

Buss would purchase the [[Los Angeles Lakers and the Los Angeles Kings in 1979 from Jack Kent Cooke for 67.5 Million dollars. Buss would sell the Kings in 1987. Under Jerry Buss's ownership the Lakers would win eight championships and would see players Magic Johnson, Kobe Bryant, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Shaquille O'Neal play for his club. He is widely recognized as one of the most successful owners in sports history.
