Jenny McCarthy is a model, actress and writer. She got her start as a Playboy model, and began hosting shows on the Playboy cable channel. MTV soon hired her to help host a game show called Singled Out, which launched her comedy career.

Advocate for Autism Research
Jenny McCarthy is a spokesperson for the organization Talk About Curing Autism, In 2002, McCarthy's son was diagnosed with Autism.1 She has been vocal in promoting the theory that mercury in vaccinations can cause autism in children, a theory that remains controversial in the scientific community.2 She believes many autistic children can be helped by a gluten and dairy free diet, and notes that her son has made great progress since she removed those items from his diet.2 This theory is currently being tested at the University of Rochester.1 Others argue that the children in question may not have been affected by autism in the first place.1
