She married singer Marc Anthony in June of 2004, and gave birth to twins in February of 2008. Before they were married, the couple dated briefly in the 1990s but always remained friends.

Prior to her marriage with Marc Anthony, Lopez had a highly publicized relationship with actor Ben Affleck. The media dubbed the couple "Bennifer". They were engaged, but the wedding was called off just hours before it was to take place. Ben later married actress Jennifer Garner.
