Jennifer Aniston was born in Sherman Oaks, Los Angeles, California on February 11, 1969. She is the daughter of Greek American John Aniston and New York City born Nancy Dow. Aniston spent a year in Greece with her family and later relocated to New York City. She graduated from the Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts.

Aniston started acting in off broadway productions including For Dear Life and Dancing on Checker's Grave. She had several jobs to support herself including that as a telemarketer and a bike messenger. She later moved back to Los Angeles, California.

In 1990, Aniston was given the starring role in the short lived television series Molloy. She then went on to appear in the television movie Camp Cucamonga. She also appeared in The Edge and Muddling Through and guest-starred on Quantum Leap, Herman's Head and Burke's Law.

In 1994, Aniston was chosen by the producers of a new sitcom Friends to play the role of Monica Geller. She persuaded the producers to let her play the part of Rachel Green instead. Aniston continued to star in the series for all 10 seasons. For the last two seasons of the show, she received one million dollars per episode. She had five Emmy nominations for her role and won "Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series".

On July 29, 2000, Aniston married Brad Pitt in a Malibu wedding. For years, the couple's relationship stayed strong, but on March 25, 2005, Aniston filed for divorce. Tabloids claim that Pitt had fallen for Mr. and Mrs. Smith co star Angelina Jolie, which Pitt denied. One month after Aniston and Pitt's divorce was finalized, paparazzi photos confirmed that Pitt and Jolie were a couple. Another rumor about their divorce was that Aniston refused to have a baby which she publicly denied.

In June 2008, Aniston was rumored to be romantically linked to singer John Mayer.
