NFL Career
After going undrafted in 1994, Garcia played for the Calgary Stampeders of the Canadian Football League. He was signed by the San Francisco 49ers in 1999 and started out as the team's backup quarterback. When starter Steve Young received his final concussion and was knocked out for the season, Garcia took over the starting role. Garcia went to the Pro Bowl three times while with the 49ers. He was also made the Pro Bowl in 2007 as a member of the Buccaneers.1
