Jeff Kent

Prior to his MLB career, Kent attended and played for the University of California, Berkeley. He was drafted on June 5, 1989 by the Toronto Blue Jays. After playing his first few seasons with the Blue Jays' minor league affiliates, Kent was called up to make his MLB debut on April 12, 1992.

Kent played 65 games with the Blue Jays in 1992, before he was traded to the New York Mets on August 27, 1992. He earned a full roster spot with the Mets, where he played for the next four years.

On July 29, 1996, Kent was traded to the Cleveland Indians. He stayed with the Indians for less than four months, when he was traded again to the San Francisco Giants on November 13, 1996.

Kent had some of the best years of his career while with the Giants. In 1999 he was selected for his first of five MLB All-Star Game appearances. The following year he was selected as the MLB Most Valuable Player and given his first of four Silver Slugger Awards. In 2002, Kent joined the Giants in the World Series, where they lost to the then named Anaheim Angels.

Following the 2002 season, Ken was granted free agency and signed with the Houston Astros on December 18, 2002. He played for the Astros for two seasons, before entering free agency again late in 2004.

On December 15, 2004, Kent signed with the Los Angeles Dodgers, where he continues to play, currently starting for the Dodgers in the 2008 season. Fast Facts:
