Early Life
Jason Chandler Williams was born in Belle, West Virginia, on November 18, 1975, and he went on to attend Dupont High School. He continued his education at the University of Florida. In 1998, Williams was selected by the Sacramento Kings with the seventh pick in the NBA draft.1
Pro Career
In his first season with the Kings, Williams started 50 games and averaged 12.8 points. In 2001, Williams was traded to the Memphis Grizzlies for point guard Mike Bibby. As of 2008, Williams has career averages of 11.4 points, 2.4 rebounds and 31.2 minutes per game.2
On September 26, 2008, Williams announced his retirement from the NBA after ten seasons. Williams had signed a one year contract with the Los Angeles Clippers, but decided to retire before training camp.3
