Early Life
Jason Paul Collins was born in Northridge, California, on December 2, 1978. He is the twin brother of fellow NBA player Jarron Collins. Jason Collins attended high school at Harvard-Westlake Prep. He continued his education at Stanford University. In 2001, Collins was selected by the Houston Rockets with the 18th pick in the NBA Draft.1
Pro Career
After the draft, Collins was traded to the New Jersey Nets with Richard Jefferson and Brandon Armstrong for Eddie Griffin.As of 2008, Collins has career averages of 4.3 points, 4.4 rebounds and 24 minutes per game. After several years with the Nets, Collins was traded to the Memphis Grizzlies in 2008 for Stromile Swift.2
