Jason Castro is a Top 5 finalist on American Idol Season 7. He had a couple standout performances with songs like "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" and "Hallelujah." Castro was not shown during the auditions of Idol because of legal restrictions placed on the songs that he chose to sing. He was seen for the first time during the finals.

Musical Background
Castro learned to play the drums at an early age and went on to learn how to play the guitar. He didn't begin singing until he was in college. Castro was a drummer in the Dallas based band, Charlemagne, which later became Keeping Lions.
Television Experience
Castro appeared on the MTV reality show Cheyenne as a love interest to singer and fellow Texan Cheyenne Kimball.
