Jason Burnett
Jason Burnett served as Associate Deputy Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency in the Bush Administration until his resignation in June, 2008. In a July, 2008, letter to California Senator Barbara Boxer, Burnett claimed that Vice-President Dick Cheney ordered more than half of Centers for Disease Control (CDC) Director Julie Gerberding's planned testimony concerning the potential health effects of climate change removed.1

The Unopened Email
In December, 2007, Burnett sent an email to the White House which stated that the Environmental Protection Agency had found that climate change posed a serious threat to human health. The White House has since refused to open that email, thus putting its findings in limbo.2
