Career Background

After a theatrical career that included appearances in Merrily We Roll Along and Broadway Bound, Alexander was cast in Seinfeld in 1989. While working on that show, he also voiced the lead character in the USA animated series Duckman.

Since Seinfeld left the air in 1998, Alexander has returned to the stage, starring in the Los Angeles run of the Mel Brooks musical The Producers and directing an upcoming revival of Damn Yankees.

He tried to launch another sitcom post-Seinfeld, called Bob Patterson, but it was canceled after 5 episodes. Alexander has appeared on the shows The New Adventures of Old Christine and Curb Your Enthusiasm alongside his own Seinfeld castmates Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Larry David, respectively.
