Janet Jackson Hospitalized
Singer Janet Jackson fell ill and collapsed during a soundcheck in Montreal on September 29, 2008.1 Jackson was admitted to the hospital for treatment and released a couple of hours later.2
The incident marked the second time Jackson had been rushed to the emergency room and hospitalized in 2008.3
Her concert in Montreal, along with additional dates in Boston, Philadelphia, Greensboro, Ft. Lauderdale, Uncasville (CT), Verona (NY) and New York City were postponed due to her illness. It was reported that Jackson was suffering from "vestibular migraine," which caused vertigo.4 5
A September 27 tour date in Detroit was postponed for "production constraints" prior to Jackson's hospitalization.6
It is reported that Jackson will resume her Rock Witchu Tour in Washington DC on October 15.7
